V-LPSII – Phono Stage

The V-LPSII is a phono stage designed to boost the performance of turntables.

The V-LPS II is a high-quality phono stage, designed to boost the performance of turntables using either moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges.

It is designed to offer a significant upgrade to the integrated phono stages found in many hi-fi components, which can’t match the optimised approach of the V-LPS II’s dedicated design.

Your vinyl listening will benefit from our years of expertise, distilled down to this affordable package. Open up the V-LPS II and you’ll essentially find the same circuitry as our high-end kW phono stage.

The V-LPS II builds on the exceptional technical performance of the first-generation V-LPS, plus wraps its sonic superiority in the new higher-quality casing and sleek silver finish featured across the Mark II V-Series range.

When Stereophile reviewed the first-generation V-LPS, they praised its performance, saying you’d have to spend at least four times more money to buy better sound. The upgraded V-LPS II offers even better value.

Design and Build

Want to hear more dynamics and detail from your discs? The V-LPS II is a high-performance MM/MC phono stage that provides a significant sonic boost to your vinyl listening. It offers a level of quality that belies both its compact size and modest price.

We can offer that exceptional value by basing the V-LPS II’s design on circuitry previously developed for and used in our higher-end kW Series phono stage.

Use of such advanced technology results in virtually perfect RIAA curve reproduction (±0.3dB 20Hz – 20kHz), extremely low distortion, wide overload margin and minimal noise.

Judged by every parameter, the performance is exceptional, with technical tweaks meaning the V-LPS II even exceeds the exacting standards set by the original V-LPS.

Let’s move onto some tech-spec specifics. The V-LPS II’s input impedance loading is a 47k ohms for MM, 100 ohms for MC. Its input sensitivity is 35mV for MM, 450µV for MC. These levels mean the V-LPS II will happily partner with a wide range of cartridge designs, even low-output MC models.

The compact size of the V-Series components makes the V-LPS II an ideally discreet companion to your turntable, providing a big boost in performance from a box that’s small enough to tuck away. Mind you, with its new high-quality aluminium casing and smart brushed silver finish, you might just want to show off the V-LPS II’s visual as well as sonic credentials.
